Steve Gollnick's songs echo the influence of heroes such as Syd Barrett and Chris Whitley, yet with a melodic sensibility that hearkens back to the Velvet Underground & Spacemen 3. Gollnick’s second solo album, Somewhere in the Nowhere, is due in 2014, and features distorted synths, buzzing drones, electronic beats & chiming guitars, mixed together to form what he calls "dark microwave smear pop".
